Footprint talks about time, memory, the presence of what is absent and, in the digital era, it also reminds us that we have digital and environmental footprints. This particular print is of a special kind: the print of a sole and a heel sticking out from the ground. Walkers take their steps on the earth and therefore belong to the earth.
A reminder that we are not “lords and masters” of the Earth, but that it is we who belong to the Earth, a warning to walkers.
