Capilla de los Condes de Fuensaldaña. Museo Patio Herreriano. 2020 Valladolid. 2020

The artistic intervention in the historic building Capilla de los Condes de Fuensaldaña situated three huge cones of diminishing size inside the space. The cones consisted of iron oxide in the case of the red and the black cone, and kaolin (china clay) in the case of the white one.
Taking into account the growing deterioration of public space and the fact that for centuries monuments and power have been intimately related, this intervention positions itself against the breathtaking and spectacular presenting instead poor materials and elementary forms of the Earth. Three heaps of earth become the reverse of monuments, not withstanding the fact that the materials used have very specific characteristics, iron oxide being the pigment used in prehistoric times to paint the animals in the Altamira cave paintings.
