Up and down
Sala ParpallĂł, Valencia, 1989
This piece is a pool of light with an access ramp and surrounding catwalk. It is made of wood, neon tubes, brass and copper. The neon tubes, hidden from the spectator who only sees the light reflected by the brass and the copper, are the only source of illumination in the space, which the piece almost fills entirely.
The surface of the pool of light, rhythmically accentuated by rows of copper, is interrupted by seven dark holes that draw the outline of the Great Bear constellation.
